Economic, health and socio-cultural background:
Although this problem has its structural origin, it has had a dramatic resurgence in the last internal war that Peru suffered (1980-2000), especially in the central Andean theater, with its consequences of hundreds of thousands of displaced people, people who in general are native or Quechua, who in addition to having suffered for more than two decades in their own flesh the consequences of political violence between the State and seditious groups, drag and face in situations of extreme poverty and malnutrition the lack of potable water services. , access to health services, decent sources of work or education, this is aggravated by cultural segregation, mainly in cities and their “Creole-Western” culture.
Likewise, a separate chapter deserves to highlight the tremendous effects of the Pandemic related to SARS-COV-2 in the personal, family and social life of these people, effects that aggravate the health situation of the vulnerable population, but also, in the already deteriorated and basic economy of these people and their basic rights, such as education, access to health services, nutrition, sources of work and others.
Many of them live in very difficult conditions in the belts that surround the cities and towns of the Mantaro Valley, which is a key and strategic area to understand and address first-hand the problems of the Andean and native peoples who have emigrated from other provinces. in search of improving or surviving their own personal and social dramas caused by decades of political violence and lack of better opportunities and that still persist focused on areas near the jungle and mountainous regions of the regions of Junín, Ayacucho, Huancavelica and Andahuaylas, Vrae .
Many survivors experienced the terrible effects of this internal war as children, today adults, many others will continue to have emotional and psychological consequences in addition to the segregation and sociocultural stigmatization of belonging to Quechua “ethnic groups” and speaking or expressing themselves in their own language and culture.
The issue of gender, social, domestic and cultural violence suffered by many women, girls and adolescents, as well as the little or no access to economic improvement or training or organizational opportunities to improve themselves and their families.
Currently we are admired and moved by the great courage, faith and strength of these women and their families to face the current situation aggravated by the effects of the Pandemic and the daily struggle they carry out to survive themselves and their families, from their villages rural areas to their humble homes in the outskirts of the cities, that is something that encourages us to promote this social cause that is very noble and powerful in its efforts to improve the quality of life of these people to whom you are your guest as an agent of change.
